Capabilities

Built for the way the shift actually runs.

Each time & attendance capability below is part of the approved OnShift HQ product scope.

  • Simple punches

Clock in, clock out, start break, and end break from one obvious Time screen. The primary action changes based on the employee's current time state.

  • Optional geofencing

A company can set a work address and allowed radius, then enable or disable geofencing. When enabled, eligible punches must satisfy the configured location rule unless a permitted exception applies.

  • Punch stamps

Store time, employee, punch type, configured work location/geofence context, and location stamp where permitted so managers can review the context of a punch.

  • Attendance alerts

Surface late arrivals, late returns from break, missed punches, and geofence exceptions when company rules determine they need attention.

  • Break tracking

Employees can start and end breaks from the same time workflow; managers can review break timing and late return patterns.

  • Edit requests & audit trail

When corrections are allowed, preserve original values, requested changes, approver, timestamps, and reason so the timecard has a defensible history.

  • Employee history

Employees can review their own permitted clock-in history and attendance indicators; managers can control which attendance details are visible.

  • Manager controls

Advanced company settings define geofence rules, attendance thresholds, visibility, edit permissions, and alert behavior without cluttering the everyday employee view.

Notifications

Notifications that match the workflow.

Alert behavior is configurable, so important time & attendance events can surface without turning every action into noise. Examples below use demo data.
